Proven Leadership.

Service. Loyalty. Determination.

These are the qualities that define Sheriff Jeff Dirkse.

In June of 2018 I was honored with winning election as Stanislaus County’s Sheriff. In the campaign, I pledged that public safety in the county would be my highest priority, and that our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools would be kept safe.

I have kept that promise.

At the Sheriff’s Department, we have 23 more deputies on the force today than when I took office. We have also seen real reductions in both violent crime and property crime in the county. Cameras on deputies both protect them and help keep trust in our communities. In 2018, our deputies did not wear cameras. Today they do.

The last two years have seen many unanticipated challenges. Throughout this time our department has performed with exceptional professionalism and competence. We have kept our commitment to transparency and accountability.

In June of 2022 I will be on the ballot again, seeking reelection as our county sheriff. I respectfully request your support and endorsement of my candidacy.

Please call me at 209-277-6414 if you have any questions or comments and visit www.jeffdirkseforsheriff.com to endorse my candidacy.

  • “Having known Jeff and his family for more than 35 years, I can think of no one better qualified or more suitable to serve as Stanislaus County’s next sheriff. Jeff is a leader. As an Army Ranger, Jeff served his country in Iraq and earned the Bronze Star for leadership, and he has been steadily promoted to positions of leadership in the sheriff’s ranks — including his current role as police chief of Patterson. With admirable poise and comfort, Jeff interacts well with children, the elderly and everyone in between. He is smart, diligent, ethical and tenacious. Jeff Dirkse is an asset to our community — and I trust he will serve Stanislaus County honorably.”
